Motivation
Have you experienced any of these as a Digital Literate?
- You visit a bank for some work and you see Senior citizens in a queue waiting for passbook updates? Some of them won't be able to figure out how to do it without assistance, I have helped many sometimes.
- You visit an ATM, and someone asks you to help them withdraw money from ATM
- Asking to withdraw money from ATM, and they are willing to share their password too...
- Many shops don't provide change, they ask to make UPI payment, My mother often faces this challenge.
- Many are unwilling to book taxi or cab, they still walk to an auto stand or bus stop
So, What's happening? even after multiple trainings, they are not confident about using the technology. When asked, the reason cited is "this is hard", "I don't understand", "I am afraid". I have heard many stories of such incidents where senior citizens are at the receiving end of the technology boom.
Unfortunately, there are no training programs that address this problem. During the Covid times, many Training programs happened, and all of them were conducted online. In a very recent article in Deccan Herald (April 7th 2024), it still highlighted the problems created because of the Digital Divide.
At TechSvatantra we want to empower all the digitally marginalised people, make them confident Tech Citizens. We offer to train those left out by conducting Offline workshops, slow paced session that give the participant the required push.
Cost for the Training
I have observed that free workshops invite lot of crowd and the focus is lost, we aim to really help those who are interested. Hence, we will be charging a nominal amount. Talk to me for more details.
